Kansas wheat inspires form, coloration and decoration.Carl Brothers

Biography:  I began teaching art in 1975, after graduating from college at Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, Kansas. I taught four years at B&B, Baileyville, and retired to paint full time. I took painting lessons from Mike Henry, in Topeka during this time and made a serious effort to become a "painter." After three years as a starving artist, I began teaching art again, this time at Centralia and Frankfort, where I am still teaching.

Horticulturally inspired pottery demonstrates organic form and natural embellishement.

In 1992 I purchased an old store-front building in Centralia and began making pottery in earnest. My inspiration comes from my interest in horticulture and things organic. My current work comes after a shift to high-fire reduction glazes.

I hope you enjoy my work. It is the best I have to offer today.

A more complete listing of Carl's work is available on the Sales page.
